Demos has been part of Watertown for more than five decades. The restaurant first opened in 1971 under John Demos, building its reputation around Greek comfort food, generous portions, and especially its signature kebabs. Over the years, it became the kind of neighborhood restaurant people return to again and again, with longtime favorites that have stayed on the menu for generations.
Brothers George and Manny Maherkis purchased Demos in 2018 with a clear goal: preserve what people already loved while giving the restaurant new life. They renovated the space from top to bottom, modernized the dining experience, and expanded the menu without abandoning the dishes that made Demos a Watertown staple in the first place.
Today, Demos continues to serve a wide range of Greek favorites, from chicken, beef, lamb, pork, shrimp, and veggie kebabs to gyros, moussaka, pastichio, spanakopita, salads, dips, and more.
